An answer becomes more valuable when a reader can inspect the evidence behind it. Source links, retrieval context and honest confidence signals let people decide whether the result is suitable for the decision in front of them.
Retrieval should preserve meaning
Finding a matching passage is not enough. The system should retain the source title, relevant surrounding context and the boundary under which the material was made available.
Confidence should remain honest
When evidence is incomplete, the response should say so. A clear partial result is more useful than a fluent answer that hides the limits of its sources.
Scale the evidence path too
As answer volume grows, the provenance path needs to remain fast and inspectable. That makes evidence a normal part of the experience instead of an afterthought reserved for exceptional cases.
